DEFRA has just confirmed that they are expecting round two of the application window for the SFI for 2026 to open on Tuesday 22nd September.
This round of applications is open to anybody within the country who has not already applied for an SFI Agreement in 2026. Therefore, if you are thinking about applying for an SFI Agreement in 2026, then now is the time to start preparing for this; and ensuring that your RPA maps are fully up to date with the correct land covers etc.
Also, if you have an existing Scheme, be it an SFI Agreement or a Countryside Stewardship Agreement, which expires on or before 28th February 2027, then you will be able to apply when the application window opens for an SFI Agreement to replace the scheme which is coming to an end on or before the end of February next year in order that you hopefully will have either no gap between funding or if there is a gap, then it will only be a very short one.
If you are looking for any assistance with regard to completing an SFI application, then please do get in touch with us here at PFK and we will be very happy to assist.
